Our Education Mentors

Dr. Yihan is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Subsea Technology at University of Stavanger (UiS) in Norway. He has more than 15 years of experience in the industry and more recently in education. After graduating from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2008, he went on to pursue his Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Technology in Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway. His research interests include modelling and simulation of complex heavy machinery, large subsea cargo drones and offshore wind turbines drivetrains. He has published more than 17 research papers.

His passion for education goes a long way back since his schooling days where he tutored elementary to high school students. As a young tutor, he inspired his students in learning and eventually excelling in their subjects. “Experience is king”, he often says that to his students. He strongly believes that the more experience you gain, the more you learn, the more you grow.

With his education ideals, Dr. Yihan provides a strong leadership presence to Kinderstori Schoolhouse. He shapes the school’s culture and enriches the experience of our education staff as well as our children.

Besides his passion in teaching and research, he is an avid marathon runner. He enjoys taking his dog, Tanja, a Border Collie for trail running in the Norwegian mountains.
